Easy Ear Climber Earrings

Forced, out of necessity, to make my own ear wires, I hit upon this novel idea: earrings which can be worn as “ear climbers”, as well as more conventionally as classic dangles.

You can choose what beads to include, depending on the style (sophisticated, bohemian, steampunk etc.), although for ear climbers they need to be quite small: no bigger than 4 mm. I would say.

Directions

You need 2 x 60 mm. STRONG ball head pins in the colour of your choice

Thread on enough beads to cover just over half of the pin.

Bend the pin after the last bead* (as far as it will go without crushing the bead), following the curve of the pin, if it’s not straight. You can use pliers, or simply bend it over your thumb nail!

Using pliers, bend back the last 0.8 cm. slightly, in line with the rest of the earring.

Voila!

*It’s important that the last bead you put on the pin has a small hole, otherwise it will slip off and your efforts will be ruined!

You can keep the earrings straight for dangles, or accentuate the natural curve of the wire for ear climbers, by bending it gently to follow the curve of your ear.
